Let this be a lesson to you who feel untouchable. My account got hacked today. I haven’t actually logged yet to see the damage, but my friend who runs another guild that my Alliance Alt is in told me that my toon ninja’d 1k gold and most of the shit from their guild bank. So I’m seriously hesitant to look at my Main. /cry.

I THOUGHT I was browsing the Armory…oh no. NO NO NO. After clicking through many many pages and links…I was prompted to log in when I tried to click a character within the Fresh and Fabulous guild. I had a split second where I thought it was weird, but I also felt that maybe they changed their site regulation.

Needless to say, I could kick my own stupid face in for this asshole move. I’m trying to stay ok about it, I say..”it’s just a game!” or “there’s nothing I can do so why be angry?” But let’s be realistic, I’m going to log in see the havoc, and throw my computer across the room. That’s just how we F&F roll…But I can tell you this, I’ll NEVER let this happen again.

Ishar from Nyx took us on and amazing raid of Stormwind, Ironforge, Exodar, and Darnassus. The Vent discipline, the planning, the intelligence…it was all perfect. Most of the members were from Nyx but about 25% were PUG including me. While I cannot divulge strategy here for obvious reasons, the style and approach provided many tips for future Fresh and Fabulous raids.

One would think Stormwind would be the most difficult of any large city raid, but it’s fairly quick and painless. Most low level folks run away, totally freaked out by our ugly mob. The two guilds you gotta watch out for are Kingdom of the East and No Mercy Mafia, neither of whom were around.

Darnassus was pretty empty except for a handful of really low level unflagged Night Elves. They were pretty uninterested in our quest to kill the Priestess. The guards around here were a but bothersome, but since the city is so spread out it was easy to stroll in unnoticed.

Exodar was the easiest city to take down. Nobody died in the encounter, which is unusual since we had some lower level members in our raid. There was some resistance, and the Battlemasters agro’ed on us, but it was still an awesome display of Horde dominance.

Ironforge is exponentially harder than all the other cities put together. Add to that many members of Kingdom of the East and No Mercy Mafia, and what you have is a pretty nasty PVE PVP encounter. But at the end of the day, we were able to kill them all off.

The worst Alliance Premade ever made

For all you n00bs out there, a Premade is a battle where all the opposing team members are picked and coordinated into a pre-planned group. Regularly, a Premade is pretty much an automatic loss for the opposing team. However, while grinding some honor the other day I came across the worst Premade team I have ever fought against. Not only that, they were from my own server (Emerald Dream) and they lost by a pretty large margin.

The winning strategy for Strand of the Ancients is simple: drive a tank if you can, otherwise equip Seaforium and drop it on a gate. The problem for the Alliance was that they were so busy sashaying around in their Relentless PVP gear they forgot to do any solid offense. They didn’t defend their tanks and they had few heals.

In our counter offensive, after we successfully defended, we rushed the yellow gate in a little over a minute. This can be done when everyone (even tank drivers) carry Seaforium, and foot soldiers defend tanks instead of focusing on kills.

Even though I don’t top the ranks in this BG, I can satisfy myself with the pleasure of having thoroughly demoralized an Alliance Premade with a stunning and rapid victory.

You see kids, sometimes one has to sacrifice Honor Points for true Honor with Victory.

The Pit of Saron is no POS — it is a tough new instance which I ran Heroically for the first time yesterday. The group was pretty solid, and thanks to Patch 3.3 a dropped team mate no longer means waiting endlessly for someone else to join up.

My favorite Boss fight was Forgemaster Garfrost. It’s just really amusing to see him rummaging around in his giant sized tool box, looking for shit to throw at you. He’s like a really lovable, old, giant-sized grandpa. And of course, in the immortally wise words of my PUG partner, “it will hit u…”

Downing him was pretty simple, just avoid his boulders and hide behind them to debuff any damage you might get into, and let the tank tank and the healer heal.

My server has a lot of players invested in [anal] jokes, and every so often, trade chat gets swamped with people linking the word “anal” with skills in their talent tree.

It’s so juvenile and immature, which is why I love it. Recently, I linked three together, to make a syntactically correct sentence which coincidentally is appropriate for a recent Halls of Lightning run.

It all started when Keilar (an Epic Holy Pally) and myself decided to take this new fangled random dungeon finder for a spin. Everything went great, even when the Huntard we were matched with decided to split after the first boss. Regularly, this would provoke a tirade from me about how hunters attract losers, and this player was no exception. However, it took exactly 2 seconds to find a new player, and the new Shammy was instrumental in helping us down Loken.

Loken, the last boss, is the only real challenge in Halls of Lightning. The actual room you fight him in is quite beautiful. It’s easy to be taken in by the window treatments and drapery. I’m sure Christopher Lowel would be proud of Loken’s choice in embroidery. But I digress.

Lighting Nova, the spell that kicks everyone’s ass, was mitigated by dropping a Nature Resist Totem and also having the Shammy go group heals, while Keilar did Tank Heals. This brought us back from the brink of death every time Loken had a sissy fit.

And finally, we were able to DPS him down. The mage only had 16K HP so she was a tough one to triage. But all in all, a pretty simple, straight forward Heroic.

I didn’t really know what to expect last night. I was planning on going out with Manba for a little nerd fun…but he never showed, so I ran with my guildies instead. We were kinda bored, and working out moon tans until we joined up with a group of city raiders..

It turns out there was an Alliance raid going on in Orgrimmar, and we were out for revenge. Not that we really need an excuse to kill Alliance. We ended up raiding all the Alliance cities, and me and many others in the group finally got our war bears.Woot!

Once finished, we decided to pose with the raid group in Silvermoon…everyone on their war bears. And two on their mammoths, just to make a nice photo.

It was a good night.

I never know when VoA is going to work out or not. Koralon went down so hard and so fast, I thought for sure this PUG was the real thing. But alas, how things turn for the worse sometimes. In this case, the off-tank got distracted, and some guy decides to insult him, and just like a tanky-prima-dona he leaves the group. Then the inevitable happens:

idiot: “Hey where are all you pussies going”
somedude: “errr…thanks for the group…my, um, guild needs me”

So, hopefully, the World of Warcraft will serve as a gentle tool to remind our young minds that being a douchbag is not a good way to lead. I’m sure PUGing a 25 man can teach our more green leaders some important lessons on how to be delicate with instruction. I guess some are just slower than others.

We just got our oil painting we won at auction for charity at Blizzcon 2009. It’s pretty freakin’ awesome. You can’t really see it in the photo but the texture of the oils and the thickness of the paint really adds depth to this incredible painting. Plus, who doesn’t find an undead warrior absolutely charming?
